California Dreaming

So , I’m counting down the days now, rather than the weeks until my big American adventure. Me and my fellow traveller are getting so excited we can barely sleep and all our friends, family and colleagues have clearly had enough of us talking about the trip. I bet they can’t wait to see the back of us!

We’ll arrive in San Francisco in exactly one week’s time and have already planned a day trip to Alcatraz. My friend wants More

Italy

Italy - the most beautiful, exceptional, unique country in the world.
You can never find the same atmosphere at any other place, unless for a little while you do not go to a typical Italian restaurant managed by an Italian in your country…
Many people know this country on ski holidays, but it is much more… And once you‘ve been there and drawn into it’s atmosphere, you take a part of it with you, in your heart, forever…

Beautiful Sofia

You do not ski chalets if you are there. Just buy a ticket to Bulgaria and go..
Old love does not rust grabs. So is the love of cities.
By Sofia we have quite an interesting love / hate relationship, but love is more than hate.

Velingrad, Bulgaria!

Velingrad, Bulgaria!

Hello again! I am so glad i can be of any help to potential holidaymaker. I hope you enjoy my suggestion this time. We all know that when we think of a summer holiday we all think about the sea, the sand and the cocktails, but may I suggest an alternative!? I would like to introduce to the town of Velingrad. It is a small town situated in the Rhodopi Mountains in southern Bulgaria. The town of Velingrad is spoken of in various legends, it has links to Greek mythology and especially to Orpheus and Spartacus who are said to have visited the town back in the days and made use of its healing mineral springs. Nowadays Velingrad is famous for its 11,000 + mineral springs and the spa hotels in the town. It is the destination of magical healing powers. I would recommend this holiday destination to people who would like to go somewhere where they can sit back, relax, enjoy their daily massage and let some steam out. It is the ideal place to go especially if the type of job you do involves a lot of pressure. You will really be able to relax and recharge your batteries. There is also a selection of hotels offering great offers to fit any budget and meet any need a customer might have. From luxurious spa centers to children facilities to hunting trips in the forests of the Rhodopi Mountains, Velingrad has it all. I would not recommend this destination to young people who would like to go out and party all night. There is not much going on at night and there is not much to interest young people in Velingrad to be honest. If you ever decide you need a break, don’t hesitate choose Velingrad. If you ever decide to go to the US, make use of the us car rental businesses to make your stay more enjoyable!

Do you dare take this holiday?

Do you dare take this holiday?

This is the story of the last holiday I took and you can say I am crazy, and I would not mind. I am a full time bartender at a very busy bar in Sofia, Bulgaria. My job involves meeting and being surrounded by a lot of people all the time. At one point in time I decided that I had had too much of smiling and having to be polite to others and even speaking to anyone, if you wish to put it that way. I decided to to on a holiday for 3 days with a £30 budget. Even as cheap as Bulgaria is this is still quite a small budget. There’s the catch: I had no expenses for travelling and no expenses for accommodation. I hitch-hiked all the way from Sofia to Burgas, which is a city at the Bulgarian seaside. Altogether it a 300 mile journey and I changed 12 cars until I can get to my destination, God bless those nice and helpful people that gave me a hand when needed. I spent the day in Burgas and then slept on the beach. Even though the temperatures were in their peak in July it was still quite cold at night so I had to use my beach towel as a blanket during the night. I spent the next couple of days travelling south and got to Lozenetz which is around 80 miles to the south, almost reaching out to the Bulgaria-Turkey border. The second day was okay, I managed to stop a car that got me halfway to Lozenetz and slept at the village train station, not very exciting but I at least there were a couple of cats which I fed with some leftovers from lunch. I woke up in the morning starving. I bought some pastry at a local shop and hit the road. To my biggest surprise I managed to stop a Mercedes SLK to give me a ride. It was a young chap driving the car and apparently his parents were loaded. We did not talk much but at least I got where I wanted to in style. I slept on the beach once more and the next day took another 14-15 cars to get back home. It was really enjoyable and I cant wait for my next holiday when I am planning to do a similar journey to the mountains (I hope the bears are friendly). This holiday came nothing short of staying in a hotel in Looe, Spain, for example, and I would advise any thrill seekers to take up a similar journey. It is memories for life!

Lozenetz, Bulgaria!

Lozenetz, Bulgaria!

It is always nice and enjoyable to sit back on you armchair, sipping from your Jack Daniel’s whiskey and smoking a cigar on your vacation in that fancy Austrian ski resort, but this is only good in the winter, because in the summer the snow is not there and unless you are in awe of the beauty of nature there is little point in going to the Austrian Alps. May I suggest a better alternative for the summer? Thank you! Why not deciding upon going to a place, not so well know, with not so many people going there, where there are no long queues and at the same time not break your bank account? Sounds interesting, does it not! This place is called Lozenetz, google it if you want. Have a look through some of the pictures and make up your mind whether it is for you. Before deciding upon your verdict may I give some additional information for the place… It is situated on one of the most southern bits of the Bulgarian part of the Black Sea, it is very affordable (not meaning that you can get a place to sleep for a cheap price, but it will be a mile away from the beach, not at all. I went there this summer and paid £20 a night for a double room at a hotel right on the coast line, the beach was literally 30 seconds away from my room’s doorstep), you can get a taste of fresh seafood and you can bask in the sun for more than 10hrs a day! There is a catch though, Lozenetz can accommodate no more than 5000 tourists, you do not get queues there, you do not wait 1hour for your food in the restaurant and you have two enormous beaches to share with only 4999 people more. Type Lozenetz in google!

Each state has it’s own identity, that includes food, dance , language, culture and even history. There is a lot to see in the towns, since Rajasthan was the city of many Maharaja’s and Royal Families (even till date) the parks, shopping areas, common plaza’s are all beautifully kept. It is a state full of colour and life. Not only is it very authentic, it also has top of the line clubs, bars and lounges that are made to cater to well off. Doesn’t matter if you can;t afford it, there plenty more to do. Shopping alone to full fill you experience in India. There are tons of palaces and lots of history to learn about. Hotels are top of the line and hospitality at its best, the rooms made to make you believe that you are the Maharaja of the palace.
Rajasthan has been noted for it hotels and services esp. in India so this is something you wouldn’t want to miss out on if you land up in India. And once your done you can take the Palace on wheels from Rajasthan your the next destination to complete your royal treatment. Time to try something different than Austrian ski resorts.
